Florecer

Meet Our
Founders

Florecer is the result of the passion and care demonstrated by Juan Pablo Arenas and Carol Dueñas in their support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

For Juan Pablo, it started at a young age, when he observed his mother, Beatriz Arenas, a veteran psychologist with decades of experience, work with youth with special needs.

For Carol, her desire to help others was inspired partly by her years studying psychology at the University of La Sabana, in Bogotá, Colombia.

Carol Dueñas

Carol graduated with a thesis on communicative competence for the deaf, blind, and children with multiple disabilities. Later on, she started to work at a hospital with mental health patients, where her sense of service became reaffirmed and solidified.

When she arrived to the United States, she obtained a certificate as a life coach focused on nutrition and another on emotional bio healing, a vital set of skills that she employs in her work as co-owner with Juan Pablo of Bright Colors & Kind Beautiful Mind Adult Residential Care Facilities, which seeks to improve the quality of life of residents with physical, mental and developmental disabilities.

Juan Pablo Arenas

Juan Pablo has been always passionate about service for others, during his whole profesional career he has focused on helping people to achieve a better quality of life.

As the owner and administrator of 2 facilities level 4i he and his team have gained valuable experience providing care, support & assistance to individuals under the spectrum of developmental & Intelectual disabilities.

At this point in his career he’s recognized for implementing efficient strategies in the areas of nutrition, education, health & welness and community integration.

Our Beliefs

We believe that each of us needs a sense of dignity, pride, and satisfaction in what we do. Because ensuring a holistic approach to serving our clients depends on the united efforts of many, we are most effective when we work together cooperatively, respecting each other’s contribution and importance. As co-owners of Adult Residential Facilities Bright Colors & Kind Beautiful Mind, they became aware of the immense void to assist societal members in finding tools and training to be able to live independently.

That is why, in 2022, they decided to set up their own company of independent and supported living services for children, youth, and adults.
